Mara Heiden, an internationally board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) at Newma Wellness, brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role in supporting families on their lactation journeys. With a Master's degree in education and specialized training in oral habituation, holistic sleep, and perinatal mental health (PMH-C), Mara is dedicated to providing comprehensive care that supports the well-being of both parents and children. She particularly enjoys hearing families' birth stories and being part of their breastfeeding journeys, finding fulfillment in working collaboratively with her colleagues to offer holistic, patient-centered care.

Outside of work, Mara is a proud mother of five and enjoys spending summer evenings outside, watching the sunset and stars. Though her busy family life leaves little room for downtime, she finds joy in simple moments with her children and hopes to return to her passion for painting. A lover of nature, Mara dreams of living by the beach and spends her free time weightlifting or relaxing by the water with her family.

Mara also enjoys reading, with The Master and Margarita being a favorite book for its deep exploration of mythology, love, and religion. She loves coffee in any form, finds comfort in a good serving of potatoes, and treasures the quiet beauty of summer nights. Inspired by her faith, Mara holds Philippians 4:6 close to her heart, reminding her to stay grounded and trust in the power of prayer.
